Gustavo Dudamel leads Bolívar Orchestra in Paris, Muscat, and Abu Dhabi this January
Gustavo Dudamel gives his first performances of 2014 leading the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela on tour in France, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. The Bolívar Music Director conducts the Venezuelan ensemble in all-Tchaikovsky program at Paris’s Salle Pleyel on January 19. Together, they perform Russian composer’s Fourth Symphony and Fantasy Overtures to The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet.
On January 22, Gustavo and the Bolívars join forces with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France for a special performance of Berlioz’s Requiem at the historic Cathédrale de Notre-Dame de Paris.
In Oman on January 24, Gustavo and the Bolívars reprise their all-Tchaikovsky concert program at Muscat’s Royal Opera House, before capping off their tour on January 27 in Abu Dhabi at Emirates Palace with performances of Tchaikovsky’s Fantasy Overtures to The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet, as well as Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
