Bolívar Orchestra European Tour

In January 2016, Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and the Símon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela embark on a European tour highlighted by guest artists Daniel Barenboim and Yuja Wang.
The tour kicks off on January 7 in Barcelona as the Bolívars join Yuja Wang for a performance of Messiaen's monumental Turangalîla-Symphonie. They bring Messiaen's ten-movement "love song" to the Halle Aux Grains in Toulouse on January 8, the Luxembourg Philharmonie on January 10, London's Southbank Centre on January 16, and the Kölner Philharmonie on January 24.
On January 17 at London's Royal Festival Hall, Gustavo and the Bolívars are joined by legendary pianist Daniel Barenboim who performs Brahms's First and Second Piano Concerti. Dudamel and Barenboim recently released an album of Brahms's concerti with the Staatskapelle Berlin on the Deutsche Grammophon label.
Alongside these performances, Gustavo and the Bolívars spotlight the music of Ravel, Villa-Lobos and Paul Desenne on January 11 at the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the ballets of Stravinsky on January 12 in Luxembourg, January 14 at Royal Festival Hall, January 19 at the Berliner Philharmonie and January 21 at the Gasteig in Munich.
