Following performance with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Lucerne Festival and in Vienna, Gustavo Dudamel leads the orchestra in two concerts at New York's Carnegie Hall on October 2 and 3. Works to be performing on the first program include Rossini's Overture to La Gazza Ladra, Orbon's Tres Versiones Sinfónica, Bernstein's Divertimento for Symphonic Band, and Ravel's Pavane pour une infante defunte and Bolero. For the second concert, Dudamel will lead the Philharmonic in Brahms's Tragic Overture, Schumann's Cello Concert in A Minor featuring Yo-Yo Ma as the soloist, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World". Both concerts are sold-out, but you can watch Dudamel conduct the Vienna Philharmonic at the Lucerne Festival in the same program as the Saturday concert for free on www.medici.tv.
