On tour: Gustavo leads Vienna Philharmonic in Europe

Vern Evans

This January, Gustavo Dudamel brings in the New Year on tour with the Vienna Philharmonic. He led the orchestra in its beloved New Year Concerts in 2016/17.
Gustavo conducts the Vienna Philharmonic in Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique and the Adagio from Mahler's Symphony No. 10 from January 11 to 14, and Brahms's Academic Festival Overture, Haydn Variations, and Symphony No. 1 on January 16.

The tour kicks off on January 11 at Vienna's Musikverein. On January 12, Gustavo and the orchestra appear at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo. They take the stage at the Teatro Real in Madrid on January 13, and at the Auditori Barcelona on January 14. They close their European tour on January 16 at Munich's Philharmonie am Gasteig.
Gustavo reunites with the Vienna Philharmonic in February and March, embarking on an expansive tour of the Americas.
