Mahler & Music of the Americas with LA Phil at WDCH and on tour

Gustavo Dudamel returns to the podium of Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in performances of music from the Americas and Mahler's Symphony No. 3. The concerts anticipate the LA Phil's and its Music and Artistic Director's American and European tours this spring.
From February 25 through 28, Dudamel and the LA Phil present Ginastera's Piano Concerto No. 1, Copland's Appalachian Spring, John Williams's Soundings – written for the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall – and a new work by Andrew Norman. Joining the orchestra is pianist Sergio Tiempo.
Dudamel leads the LA Phil from March 3 through 6 in Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 3, spotlighting guest musicians including mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford, the Women of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the Los Angeles Children's chorus.
They take these programs on tour to New York and across Europe in March. Concerts include New York's David Geffen Hall (March 13 & 14),  Amsterdam's Concertgebouw (March 17), the Philharmonie de Paris (March 19 & 20), the Philharmonie Luxembourg (March 21), and London's Barbican Centre (March 22, 23 & 24). The March 24 London performance features Messiaen's Des canyons aux étoiles with visual design by Deborah O'Grady.
