Gustavo to Open Paris Opera Season with Inaugural Concert on September 22

On September 22, Gustavo will take the stage at the Palais Garnier in Paris, France for his very first performance as the new Music Director of the world-renowned music institution. This very special Inaugural Concert will feature Gustavo conducting the Orchestra, Chorus, and Academy of the Paris Opera with soloists and guest performers including Clémentine Margaine, Matthew Polenzani, Ekaterina Gubanova, Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur, Gerald Finley, and Diana Damrau, performing selections from music by Bizet, John Adams, Wagner, Richard Strauss, Verdi and more. The full performance will also be broadcast live for free on medici.tv, Mezzo, as well as the Paris Opera’s home streaming platform.

Looking ahead in Gustavo’s inaugural season as Music Director of the Paris Opera, performances include productions of Puccini’s Turandot in December 2021, and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in January-February 2022, as well as November 2021 programs of works by Ravel, Mozart, and Berlioz, and February 2022 performances of music by Rameau, Boulez, and Mahler.
