Gustavo Dudamel leads the LA Phil into its second century in 2019-2020
Gustavo Dudamel leads his LA Phil orchestra into its second century in 2019-2020, in a season that kicks off with a performance that features three of the Phil's legendary conductors--Dudamel, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Zubin Mehta--who combined have led the orchestra for nearly half of its existence.
In the Fall, Dudamel and the LA Phil embark on a series of performances and residencies in Mexico City, London, Boston, and New York, with pianist Yuja Wang.
In March, jazz legend Herbie Hancock joins Gustavo for "Power to the People!," a festival that brings together composers, musicians, and poets representing a variety of musical traditions and social movements.
Dudamel and the LA Phil extend their commitment to supporting new voices, in premiere commissions by Gabriela Ortiz, Brad Mehldau, and Andrew Norman as part of the new season.
