Bolívar summer concerts include Tannhäuser in Bogotá, Mahler & Mozart at Salzburg Festival
This summer, Gustavo reunites with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela for two series of performances in Latin America and in Europe. From July 13 to 18, Gustavo will lead the Bolívars for performances of Wagner's Tannhäuser at Bogotá'sOpera de Colombia.
From Colombia, Gustavo and the Bolívars head to Austria to present five concerts at the Salzburg Festival, beginning with Mahler's monumental Symphony of a Thousand on July 24, followed by Mahler's Third Symphony with mezzo-soprano Anna Larsson on July 30 and Seventh Symphony on August 3. While in Salzburg, Gustavo also conducts two performances of Mozart's Mass in C Minor at the Stiftskirche St. Peter with sopranos Anna Prohaska and Roberta Invernizzi, tenor Mauro Peter, and bass Florian Boesch.
