Anticipating January 2015 tour, Gustavo Dudamel conducts four performances with Bolívar Orchestra in Caracas

In anticipation of their January 2015 European tour, Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela give four concerts December 12, 14, 19 and 20 at the Sala Simón Bolivar, CNASM in Caracas, Venezuela.

On December 12, the Bolívar Orchestra Music Director leads the ensemble in Brahms’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major with guest soloist Francisco Fullana. Schumann’s Third Symphony, “Rhenish,” rounds out the program.

Gustavo and the orchestra then perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and orchestral music from Wagner’s Ring cycle, as well as Tristan und Isolde, in concerts on December 14 and 20. Julián Orbón’s Tres Versiones Sinfónicas and Mahler’s Fifth Symphony comprise the December 19 program.

The musical programs featuring music by Beethoven, Wagner, Orbón, and Mahler anticipate Gustavo and the Bolivar’s 17-day, European tour to London, Brussels, Frankfurt, Barcelona, València, Madrid, and Paris.
