Andrew Norman World Premiere and Brahms Second Piano Concerto with Emanuel Ax and LA Phil
Following European tours with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Göteborgs Symfoniker, Music Director Gustavo Dudamel returns to the United States to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Gustavo begins his month of concerts with the American orchestra this week, conducting pianist Emanuel Ax in Brahms’s Second Piano Concerto on May 1, 2 and 3 and the world premiere of Andrew Norman’s Release (except Friday), a work for piano and orchestra. Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture kicks off the program.
Looking ahead, Gustavo and the LA Phil are joined this month by notable guest soloists including Lang Lang, Hélène Grimaud, and Joshua Bell. From May 23 to 31, Gustavo and the LA Phil present Così fan tutte, the third installment of their Mozart/Da Ponte trilogy. Discover more here.
