LA Phil Announces 2026 Hollywood Bowl Season

On February 18, the Los Angeles Philharmonic announced its 2026 Hollywood Bowl summer season, running from June through September and marking the celebrated orchestra’s 104th season at the iconic amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills.

Gustavo Dudamel returns for his 17th season at the Bowl as Music and Artistic Director. In August, he leads a four-night series titled Celebrating Gustavo at the Bowl, highlighting the artistic range, collaborations, and community partnerships that have shaped his tenure in Los Angeles.

Celebrating Gustavo at the Bowl begins on Thursday, August 20, with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic alongside musicians of Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. The evening also features the world premiere of a new orchestral work by Academy Award–winning composer Michael Giacchino, with lyrics by poet Amanda Gorman.

On Friday, August 21, Dudamel curates and hosts Dudamel’s Playlist, a one-night-only program bringing special guest artists to the stage. The series continues Saturday, August 22, as Foo Fighters join the LA Phil and YOLA for a symphonic collaboration. The week concludes Sunday, August 23, with A Musical Legacy, a genre-spanning program reflecting music performed with the orchestra during Dudamel’s 17-year artistic journey.

Musicians from Youth Orchestra Los Angeles participate in the performances throughout the week's performances, underscoring Dudamel’s long-standing commitment to music education and community engagement.

The 2026 season also marks several milestones for the Hollywood Bowl, including the opening of the Terry and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion, the debut of a new L-Acoustics sound system, and the first full season on the newly dedicated John Williams Stage.
