Latin American Tour with Sinfónica Simón Bolívar to Bogotá, São Paolo, Rio de Janeiro
Following concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker at the orchestra’s home and across Europe, Gustavo Dudamel returns to Latin America this July to lead the Sinfónica Simón Bolívar on tour in Colombia and Brazil. The Venezuelan conductor and the orchestra perform Mahler’s Ninth Symphony at Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo in Bogotá on July 3, Sala São Paulo in São Paulo on July 7, and Theatro Municipal de Rio de Janeiro on July 10–just three days before the city hosts the World Cup final.
In São Paulo, Gustavo and the Sinfónica Simón Bolívar present a second concert on July 6, with a program comprising Carreño’s Margariteña, Villa-Lobos’s Bachiana Brasileira No. 2, and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique.
