Dudamel tours South America with Simón Bolívar Orchestra
This June Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Orchestra of Venezuela embark on a fifteen-day tour of several South American countries, including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. The tour begins on June 15 in Bahai, Brazil and finishes on June 29 in Santiago, Chile. Other stops on the tour include three concerts in Sao Paulo (June 19, 20 and 21), two concerts in Buenos Aires (June 26 and 27), two performances in Rio de Janeiro (June 22 and 23), one concert in Paulina, Brazil (June 17), and one performance in Montevideo (June 28). Dudamel and the orchestra will perform two alternating programs on the tour, one featuring Mahler's epic Seventh Symphony and the other featuring Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, Chavez's Symphonia India, Castellano's Santa Cruz de Pacairigua, and the second suite from Ravel's Daphnis & Chloe.
