Dudamel in Caracas for performances of La traviata and Festival Viva Nebrada Ballet Gala
Gustavo Dudamel will lead the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela in two fully-staged performance of Verdi's La traviata on July 18 and 20 at the Teatro Teresa Carreño. Opera features prominently in the Maestro's schedule over the coming months: he leads the the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a concert performance of Bizet's Carmen at the Hollywood Bowl on August 1, and at the end of October he opens a new production of the same opera at Milan's renowned Teatro alla Scala.
In the week following the performances of La traviata in Caracas, Dudamel conducts the Bolívars in two ballet galas at the Teatro Teresa Carreño as part of the Festival Viva Nebrada. During these performances, pieces by four young Venezuelan choreographers will be premiered (July 24 and 25).
