Brahms & Corigliano concerts anticipate Gustavo's North American tour with Los Angeles Philharmonic
Following an 11-day TchaikovskyFest - an exploration of the Russian composer with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and Los Angeles Philharmonic - Gustavo Dudamel conducts the LA Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Brahms’s Second Symphony and John Corigliano’s Symphony No. 1 on March 6, 7, 8 & 9.
The concerts anticipate the orchestra and its Music Director’s forthcoming North American tour, which kicks off next Tuesday, March 11 in San Francisco. In addition to Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 and Corigliano’s Symphony No. 1, Gustavo and the LA Phil’s repertoire will include Daniél Bjarnasson’s Blow Bright (recently premiered by Gustavo and the LA Phil in December 2013), Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto with guest soloist Yuja Wang, and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony. Gustavo and the LA Phil can be heard at San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall (March 11 & 12), Kansas City’s Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts (March 14), New York’s Avery Fisher Hall (March 16 & 17), Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (March 18), Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall (March 19), Montreal’s La Maison Symphonique (March 20), and Boston's Symphony Hall (March 23).
