Gustavo & Bolívars open Carnegie Hall's 2016/17 concert season

This October, Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela open Carnegie Hall's 2016/17 concert season with three evenings of concerts.
The Opening Night Gala on October 6 sees Gustavo and the Bolívars perform Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, Ravel's La valse and selected dances from around the world.

On October 7, Gustavo leads the orchestra in Stravinsky's Petrushka, Juan Carlos Núñez's Tonadas de Simón Diaz, Paul Desenne's Hipnosis Mariposa and Heitor Villa-Lobos's Bachianas brasileiras No. 2.
Gustavo and the Bolívars perform Olivier Messiaen's Turangalîla-Sinfonie for their final performance at Carnegie Hall this fall on October 8. They are joined by pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Ondes Martenot player Cynthia Millar.
