Dudamel leads LA Phil in Mahler's First Symphony and Adams' City Noir for Inaugural Gala
For his Inaugural Gala and opening night concert at Walt Disney Hall tonight, October 8, Gustavo Dudamel conducts the world premiere of John Adams' City Noir, a major orchestral work inspired by the city of Los Angeles and commissioned by the LA Phil. The evening concludes with Dudamel conducting Mahler's joyous First Symphony. This concert is scheduled to be telecast on PBS's Great Performances throughout the U.S. on October 21, with subsequent airings throughout the world. Deutsche Grammophon will also issue a DVD of the performance in November.
